They’re exploding onto The Painted Table Stage for one spring evening only—Saturday, April 16th—and you won’t want to miss the show. Groove to Cain’s performance as he jives with the pros that make up his tight band.
San Jose native Chris Cain was nurtured on blues from a very young age. Hid dad never missed a performance of B.B. King, Ray Charles, and Johnny Otis when they came into town, and brought young Chris along for an education of a lifetime. He took up the guitar by the age of 9, learning to play by ear, along with learning his way with the piano and sax. To unravel the mysteries of musical forms, he attended San Jose City College. Then he took inspiration from Big Joe Turner and Jimmy Witherspoon to create the booming vocals that he’s known for today.
Fast forward to 1987, when Cain burst on the blues scene to release his blues album to great accolades. Now see him perform fresh off the success of his 15th album, “Raisin’ Cain”, which topped the California Blues Radio Charts for an astounding 12 consecutive weeks. The album brought him a 2021 BMA Nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Artist and Best Blues Guitarist.
