Attend this year’s film-tastic in-person experience of the 32nd Annual Reel Pride Film Festival presented at Fresno City College. This year, Fig & Honey is catering light hors d’oeuvres, specialized cocktails, and bubbly champagne as the star indulgences at the Reel Pride 32 Kick-Off Party. We’re so excited to be a sponsor for this exciting community event!

Be ready for all the mix and mingle fun, all to honor our Fresno area LGBTQ+ community. Dress to the nines for this exclusive “Kick-Off Party” in Fresno City College’s historic Old Administration Building courtyard on September 10th. The festivities begin at 6:30 pm. Besides sumptuous appetizers, enjoy a champagne toast, experience live musical entertainment by Drew Sands (Trap Girl), a complimentary wristband for the after-party at Splash Nightclub, and a special screening of the night’s feature film, “Summertime”.

As the theatre lights dim inside the FCC’s OAB Auditorium at 7:30 pm, you’ll watch what Peter Debruge of Variety calls “The most inspirational movie of the year.” This heartfelt film by Carlos Lopez Estrada “makes one feel a bit better about the future,” according to Dan Mecca of The Film Stage. Watch the trailer and get your tickets. Meet up at the after-party, Splash Nightclub’s nod to support locals.

Throughout the festivities, Kick-Off Partygoers are welcome to enjoy a special exhibit highlighting the presence and history of our Central Valley’s LGBTQ+ community. This “Constellating Care Networks’ Exhibition” and mapping project is located in FCC’s Art Space Gallery. Participate by sharing your artwork and memories to add to the “constellations” that are added to a large-scale map pinpointing these “places” of importance to our local LGBTQ+ residents.

Discover Reel Pride 32 and their efforts to bring a full rainbow of LGBTQ+ entertainment and cinema to the Central Valley by getting tickets to step out and party the night away with The Painted Table and other local businesses at the 32nd Annual Reel Pride Film Festival Kick-Off Party on September 10th. Picture this: a sweltering hot Central Valley summer day.  You venture out and escape to the serene nature found along the banks of the San Joaquin River. You dine on sumptuous cuisine that only The Painted Table’s artistry can offer. But you’re not just sitting on shore—You are seated at a long, elegantly set table in the river! With your feet immersed in the cool currents, you dine on a unique five-course meal designed just for the occasion.

This isn’t a dream. Here at the Painted Table, we transform extraordinary culinary adventures into reality. We painted outside the lines with event planning that visited the realm of the unexpected for our “Dinner in the Water,” in collaboration with Fresno’s Underground Supper Series, for our June 10th event.

Experimental menus paired with exquisite cocktails are the signature of Underground Suppers. From delicate appetizers, that included strawberry and ricotta crostata and fried smelt served with a fine ginger-seasoned dipping sauce, to a refreshingly spicy cucumber and coconut salad, our 40 guests were poised for the main entrée: braised short ribs brushed with fig and apricot glaze. The dessert teased tongues with a bounty of flavors and textures: our guests delighted in velvety lime curd served with pickled green apple 3 ways, sesame crumble, candied ginger, and sorrel.

Only the finest team of event pros can produce such a successful escape. The Modernist astutely created a specially crafted cocktail to pair with our menu. Beautiful flowers by Botanique Floral Artistry adorned our long table covered with crisp linens from The Linen Shoppe. Our guests sat under hanging golden lights strung by Light Up The Walls, and DC Photography Studios captured the entire event.

This kind of fantastical culinary getaway is what we’re known for at The Painted Table. Impeccable event planning and execution is in our wheelhouse. What’s your vision for your upcoming event? From an intimate dinner party to a big blowout celebration, we’re here to make your vision come to life. Contact our in-house event design team at (559) 443-7199.

Bio shared from Amy Jaye at Fresno's Underground Suppers:

I’m a Midwestern gal originally from the Windy City who grew up in a large family filled with exemplary hostesses. Always wanting to be in the thick of things, at the age of five I learned to play tambourine on “Jeremiah was a Bullfrog” for the band that performed at every family wedding. It was a sure gig at least three times a summer and cemented my love for events that bring people together.

I’ve spent more than twenty years planning festivals, conventions, and meetings in the entertainment, software, and hospitality industries, all the while helping friends and family organize the special moments of their lives. I’ve always loved to experience things in new and clever ways, so when it was time to carve my own path in the events industry, I chose to produce events that create community through food and travel experiences. The result is Fresno’s Underground Suppers and Bird and Stone Collective.

You might call me a traditionalist with a twist; I would say I am the original Mini Cooper updated with the new technology of today. Like a traveler from a bygone era, I dress up when I get on an airplane and check my suitcase, rather than put everything in the overhead bin. But my carry-on is filled with the latest gadgets to keep me busy and a pair of comfy socks so I can ditch my shoes. Who takes tea with cream (not milk) and espresso black, but also loves trying new flavors of kombucha and unusual craft cocktails? That’s me. And even though I love fancy food like caviar and oysters for a special occasion, there is nothing as tasty as Chicago deep dish pizza. Well, maybe cupcakes. Or a hot dog eaten in the bleachers at Wrigley Field.
